Just bought a MY01, what's the best way to keep the plastic top from scratching or creasing. I put the top up and down quite a bit. Is the $125.00 mat from Muz the way to go? Is there a cheaper way? I saw someone using a spongy roll they put in the back when putting the top down, does this prevent the plastic window from creasing? Any advice on where to purchase an assisted item will help. ($125.00 is too pricey at this time).
Buy or make a tube to prevent creasing. Pain in the rear because you have to put it on everytime you drop the top. www.allroadster.com has a tube for $20. Muz' mat is not that expensive. You are probably looking at the floor mats. His mat probably costs only $50. You should buy a mat to protect against scratching. Use Meguiars #10 and #17 to clean and polish your rear window. Plexus is also good for polishing.
Forget wasting your hard earned money on the tube, just stick on the static cling tint for the rear window and it will prevent creasing AND scratching much better than the tube will. And, you never have to get out of your car to stick this tube on when dropping the top, just apply the tint and forget about it.

If you want cheap, just use a towel. My first rear window was wrecked within a year of using nothing, but the new one still looks perfect after two years now that I always put something in there to protect from scratches every single time I lower the top.
