Default Plastic Window Wrinkle Preventer

A while back there was a guy selling straps on ebay that helped the plastic window fold without creasing, thus eliminating the need for a tube or towel.

They were called Gregs Straps. Original thread here - https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...owtopic=155982

Anyone know how to make these or if they are still available anywhere?

ooh interesting. i'd like to know too - getting out of the car to make sure the windows folding properly almost half eliminates having an automatic convertible top.

Actually, years ago people used to use a foam roll (noodle) sold for use in swimming pools and put that in the top when closing. I have never used anything in the past 9+ years and have never had a real problem. The hot sun will smooth out the wrinkles.

* I missed that you mention tubes in your post.

IIRC the problem you're referring to is that the OEM straps are stretched and worn out. If you replace them the top retracts more easily. If that is what you're looking for I recommend making your own. It is extremely easy if your wife/friend/seamstress can run a few seams for you.

The best fix for a plastic rear window is a replacement glass top from Robbins. Its the best $ I've spent on this car...

Its not the top straps it was some added device/straps that made the plastic window fold inward everytime so you didnt have to get out and push the crease in that the plastic window has sometimes.

I want a glass top but my plastic window is perfect still so theres no reason to switch yet.

Just seeing if anyone knew the design on these so I could make my own or if they were still for sale somewhere.

The thread ended in 2005 though so probably not.

Hey guys. I am the originator of the S2000 rear window wrinkle preventer straps. I am taking a poll to determine if there is still interest for those who still have the rear plastic windows. Let me know if interested. Thanks guys.
