FRONT plate, that is.

I know the subject's been thrashed already, but I searched through all threads and found no Canadian views/experiences on the topic.

So...is anyone driving without their FRONT plate in Canada, or even better, in British Columbia?

[I just pulled my front plate and rehearsed my alibi as to why its in the trunk ("sorry officer, brand new car, had the front plate off to take some pictures of it -- its right here in the trunk and I can install it right away") and am ready to go out in the sun.]

Wish me luck...

(p.s.: wow the car looks so much better)

Regina here, yes I am driving without a front plate. I am waiting for the day when I get pulled over. It's against the law and I guess you can say much It looks nicer with out the front plate..

Alberta does NOT need front plates. Was in B.C. when a check stop happened. I could see the cop had a gleem in his eye when he walked up to me. When I showed him I was from Alberta, he seemed soooo disappointed. Boo f$$$$$g Hoo!

I wouldn't do it in Vancouver. There's so many cops going around. Especially in Richmond. I got pulled over just for having my fog lights on when it wasn't foggy. I didn't even know it was illegal. So anyways, they actually have people looking for guys who have fog lights on.

I dont have my licence plate on, got caught once(since the stupid cop thought i was racing with my friend, he had no evidence, just SAID we were driving so aggressive, nothing to charge me while pulled me over, finally he found that i got no front licence plate on, now he feel better).
It looks nicer without the front licence plate.

Hey blau-blau

Yah, I agree, surprising hwo much better it can look.

But, more importantly: how long have you been without the plate, and how much was the fine for the missing plate?

xviper: heh heh...if if blau-blau gets back to me, we'll know exactly how much for the cop had a gleam in his eye. I wonder, though, if its possible to register the car in AB, while resident in BC... Congrats on no PST on your purchase! My provincial tax added to 10%!!!

Honda Gal@s2ki,

I'm from Regina, but now in the Twin Cities. Do you live in Glencairn? My brother saw a silver stook there. I'm coming back to Regina in June. I'm not sure how many Yellow stooks are running around Regina, but if you see one ripping around Regina at the end of June, it might be me!!! Did you get yours at Regina Honda?

SilverFog: It is possible. I've seen it done once. I can't be sure it can be done again. It may have been a fluke. You must have a mailing address here (a relative?), register and insure the car here and also get an Alberta driver's licence. Is it worth the hassle just to be legal with no front plate?
