Shelley,

I'm actually in Minneapolis/St.Paul (Twin Cities). I moved here about 2 years ago, but I've lived in Regina most of my life.

It seems that Regina Honda doesn't like to deal. In 98 I bought a Prelude, but I went to Swift Current to get it, because they were $3000 CDN cheaper. I bought my 01 Yellow Stook here in MN. However, I did buy a Civic from Steve Tam in 1995. Small world! If they don't have the best price, they're not going to get the business!!! But I love my Honda's!!!

You founded https://www.s2ki.com, as far as I can see, right? It's great to see another Regina person with a world class website! You should check out one of my websites: ReginaGasPrices.com. We have 115 cities accross the US and Canada. My business partner currently lives in Saskatoon, but he's from Regina too.

I'll have to look into a Muz mat. Where's the best place to get one?

I'll be in Regina the last week of June. Hope to see you around!

Jason

Hey!

Been driving in Vancouver for 13 months.

No plate for 12 months and 3 weeks.

On my 2nd day of driving plateless, I was
stopped by a "special unit" cop in North
Van. By "special unit" I mean, all he does
is drive around and pulls people over for not
stopping exactly at the stop sign, not signalling
your turn, driving 50.5 km/h in a 50 km/h zone,
and really dangerous stuff like that.

Since then, I've been "reminded" a couple of time
by cops at a roadcheck etc. Many times, a cop
was driving in the opposite direction as I was
and no problem...

1st time, all they can do is give you a warning,
especially with your "story" and plate in the
trunk.

But pay attention as to whether or not they're
punching you into the computer. If they do, then
the second time, don't say "I didn't know" cause
you'll just embarass yourself.

Hope this helps. And yes, I agree - the car with
and without the front plate is like night and day.
I don't know what I'll do if I'll be forced to
put the front plate back on. I think it'll get
attached somehow to the grille in the front, but
definitely not on the nose in the original position.

The thing with the cops is you never know what they're doing. They may be going somewhere and they don't care what you do. Especially if they're on the opposite end. They're not gonna immediately turn around to catch you. But there are ones who don't do anything but wait for you to make any kind of mistake.

I attempted to buy a 98 prelude from steve, and got in to a fighting match, I told him to shove it and went to Medicine Hat. Then round 2, thought I would give them another chance for the stook. Steve and the manager laughed at me for even considering a s2000. Must be because I am a girl or something. In Jan 00 they wanted $55K plus tax. I did real well in Medicine Hat. Felt good to say to them I told you so.

My S2000 is my fourth roadster, all of which, since the summer of '95, have gone without a front plate. I have been stopped for that reason only once and that was because of my own carelessness. I was driving back into Ottawa after being in the States for the rpevious week or more (where, of course, I don't give the car's platelessness a second thought). My being out of practice worrying about any cop seeing the front end of my car led me to trail a city cop for a mile or so in two lanes of traffic and then, as he slowed to below the speed limit, gradually pull out and pass him on the four lanes entering town. He bleeped his siren and pulled me over. I told him a bracket was missing and had been on order for two weeks at my dealer. He gave me only a warning, though I assume he knew damn well I was ...fibbing.

By the way, Shelley, I'm confused about your comments regarding the MuzMat and the roof well mat. Isn't the MuzMat meant to go in the roof well -- under the collapsed top?
