I don't know what these guys are smoking.

Speeding in order to escape a situation that would make a reasonable fear for their safety is acceptable in most jurisdictions.

Just explain it to the court. If the judge believes you, you should get off.

Awesome, but staged.

To the OP, maybe best to get a lawyer. If you show up and just tell the judge your story, I doubt he'd believe you.

Just joined to ask the S2000 community a legal question? This has nothing to do with S2000's.

And going almost double the speed limit? Sketch

Well assuming its true and the believe you, that qualifies as duress which is a valid legal defense for ANY violation INCLUDING felonies which the only exception being murder. I would talk to a lawyer

Do I even have an arguement in traffic court?
I always use a traffic attorney for tickets. I doubt your story will matter to the court.

Ask around for a good one in your area.

I hate to say it but you are going to have a hard time getting out of the ticket, even if you get a lawyer.
You never know. I've had "hopeless" citations dismissed with the officer there in court on trial day. Your odds are certainly worse without a lawyer.

You couldve just kept going a little further up the road at normal speed then the cop probably wouldve pulled over the guy who was behind you for driving like a douche.
