What conditions of driver abuse could cause the inside of the tyres to wear quickly?
I understand that taking corners too quickly in most cars causes the outside of the tyres to wear quickly.
I would think that doing burnouts etc would cause the whole tyre to wear quickly.
I don't know about the inside...

The biggest reason I sold my S2000 with 22,000 miles on it was because it was spending more time in the shop for warranty repairs than even my lemon 1985 Corvette did. Add the fact that American Honda insinuated that they would no longer cover warranty claims due to abuse. I was autocrossing the car but I never did a single clutch drop and I did not in any way abuse the car. They told me that making tight turns autocrossing was abuse of the LSD.
If you sell your car call Honda Care and have them send you a check for the unused portion of your warranty.
BTW, I still love S2000's and I would still like to have one in my stable, but I don't trust Honda with this car.

fluke incident, i know that this incident has upset you, but id say step over this small rock and buy an 04. bottom line is, if you spend your money at audi or bmw, you will be twice this pissed. i work for vw/audi now, and our sister store is bmw, i know the shop foreman, at bmw and i am the shop foreman at vw. both are junk compared to honda. my advice... drop the car off and take home an 04. depending on where you live, and with the insight of bad blood, id buy from, and get serviced by another dealer. just my opinion, been doing this over a decade, and i know the ups and downs of service managers, and the people of the auto industry, if the wrong guy tears down your car, and is in a bad mood, your done. i had it happen to me on my RSX typeS. that tranny and shift setup is a pile of shit. i broke it in less than 10k, and they said it was my fault, then i read all over the net that they are always grinding,so they fix it and call it good will.... then when one of the motor mounts snaps, i take it in, and they will barely help me. so i said this blows dog, traded it for an S. been treated like a king ever since. well best of luck to you my friend, take it easy... dave
I voted for more than 15000 miles. I bought mine new and I currently have 27300 miles on them. I don't drive my car like a grandma, but I don't track or autocross in my car either. Plus, most of my driving is mostly straightline roads...no curves. I'm getting close to the wear bars, so I'll probably have to replace them this summer.
