I already took mine off. I think it looks great without it even though I don't have a hardtop yet. To me it is necessary if you have a hardtop.

100%. If you have a hardtop it looks good, but when you put the top down with the tape removed it looks like the winshield is 5ft. higher.

Good point, but then you have to think that the berlina's dont have the tape. Does it have the same effect on the black cars or no?

I thought about it, but I like the way the black frame makes the car look. Top up or down, all you really see is the body.

I removed mine and I like the way it looks. Hopefully I'll have a hardtop one day to complete the look.

No, berlinas look fine without tape from the factory cause its black so your eye doesn't pick up the top of the winshield like it would with sebring or any other color aside from berlina. Basically, with a hardtop it looks good without the tape as it flows better, but with the top down I don't like it.

Without hardtop, keep the tape. With hartop you could remove em.

problem is, this has been mentioned in S2000 book, the designers of S2000 approached classic Birtish roadster design cue when they decide to give a sharp and pertrude angle on windshild. Without the black tape, the design flow is disturbed by the unsually straight front windshield line.

So keep the tape. Trust me. I've seen ones without. They look funny unless you have the hardtop on.
