I keep telling my friends that this car stops on a F'ing dime. Trouble is that others don't. They just run you over. Looks like a case in point.

Conversation in the other car:

"Hey, what kind of car is that? I dunno, get closer to it so I can see if there's any small print on the trunk."

You have to watch out for those admirers!!

If the car was parked on the street and some dumba%& came along and hit it, the airbags wouldn't go off. I am betting that this was just parked and got hit from behind.

Man that would just kill your day!

If this is the same car that I'm thinking about. I think the doctor that drove this car actualyl spun around and hit a tree. I don't think he was hurt, but the car sure was.

Nice (and not so nice) to see the crumple zoned work as advertised. Most likely helped him walk away.

Air bags in the S2000 only deploy when you hit something in the front. The accelerometer that triggers the bags only works when the car hits something with the front of the car.

Think about it, what use would airbags be in a rear-end collision?

Plus, if you're in a really nasty wreck, it's conceivable that you could hit the rear or side, then slide into something with the nose of the car. If the airbags deploy on the first hit, you'd have nothing to help on the second hit, thus the bags would be wasted. If, however, the bags only deploy when you hit something with the front, then the bags wouldn't deploy on the first hit, but they would on the second when they would be needed.

Guys, I'm the one who bought the S2K off ebay, but that one isn't mine. It is scary how close the damage is to mine, though. It's actually less damaged than the one I have.
Airbags generally won't go off in a rear collision. Mine was a hard ass hit and they didn't go off. Consult your air bag documentation that came with the owners manual.

Here's mine, finally got started on the rebuild today.
