Default Poor remote tranmitters range

My transmitter sucks! I have have to be within 6 or 7 feet of the car before it will lock/unlock. Is there something I can do about this? Is this normal? Maybe the battery in the transmitter needs to be changed, since this is a MY02. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Den

If you can double post, so can I:

May sound funny, but hold the transmitter up under your chin (touching under the soft palate actually) and give the button a press.

I know, I KNOW....wives' tale blah, blah...never seen it documented, but I installed car stereo/security for 6 years. All of us did it. Works with my Xterra remote too. Quadruples my range.

Try it. Dare ya.

When I worked as an installer I used to tell customers that trick. Amazing how well it works.

Have you checked the battery...sounds like you may need to replace the battery.

I put it up to my forehead. This trick extends the range for every car with a remote that I've ever tried it with.

Its def. your battery. Also, some more tricks....The chin trick will probably add 10 feet to your range.

However (and this has been proven)...if you aim the head of the remote inside your mouth (towards the back teeth)....youll almost double the range. Try it!
