Default Pops out Of 2nd gear

I was just driving to work this am and my 04 with 650 miles popped out of 2nd gear. Is this common? My 01 never did that.

thats not common, and you are WAY to early to have clutch slipping... i would say take it in to the dealer, have it checked out.. cause the only time you would pop out of a gear is w/ a bad clutch i.e slipping

The new MY04 (with 35 miles) that I test drove at the local dealership poped out of 2nd like 5 times during a 15 mintue test drive.

For those in Bay Area, it's the red one at the Palo Alto Honda dealer. I told the sales guy and he completely ignored me.

BTW, I wonder if the MY04 is more proned to poping because of the shorter throw.

My MY04 with 3K miles had the same problem. Pop out 2 times from the 2nd gear while going downhill today. Could it be a MY04 defect?
On top of that, it has the infamous 1-2 grind from day one and sometimes I can feel some resistance when trying to shift om 2-3.

Anyone else has this issue???

It would be great if you can get a Honda rep involved. I wanna know if this is a common defect or I got a lemon.
One of the major reason I switched from BMW to S2000 is for reliability and trouble free enjoyment. This problem really irritated me...

I've had the same problem with my '04. I have only 3K miles on it and the problem has been getting worse, since around 1.5K.

I took it into the dealer and, of course, they couldn't duplicate, so I did a two-week log with about 20 instances, almost all when going down hill and using engine for braking.

Finally, took into the dealer this week and they were able to duplicate once when I left the car overnight. Car is in shop now and they are doing "exploratory surgery".

I copied the posts from this forum and gave to service supervisor. I'll see how it goes and post next week when (hopefully) i get my baby back.

Really a shame on such a great car, otherwise.
