Yes it is- they are saying the engine has the worlds highest specific output- which is clearly wrong since the S2K's 2.0l is still in production....

For a 4-stroke, during one complete crank revolution, only half the engine's rated displacement is aspirated.
If you looked at a 2.0 liter (4x500cc) four-cylinder starting at TDC prior to intake stroke on cyl1, one complete crank revolution goes like this:
Cyl1:
piston goes down, intake stroke
piston goes up, compression stroke
Cyl2
piston goes up, compression stroke
piston goes down, power stroke
Cyl3
piston goes up, exhaust stroke
piston goes down, intake stroke
Cyl4
piston goes down, power stroke
piston goes up, exhaust stroke
Note that only cylinders 1 and 3 have an intake stroke in this one crank revolution, and cylinders 3 and 4 have an exhaust stroke. i.e., only 2x500cc has gone into the engine, and only 2x500cc has gone out. 1 liter.
Next crank revolution, Cylinders 2 and 4 have an intake stroke, and cylinders 1 and 2 each have an exhaust stroke, another liter cycled.
Two crank revs required to aspirate 2.0 liters.

As the with the S2000 the GT3 most likely puts out more hp than advertised. I've been in a new GT3 on the track. I have to say there is no substitute for the GT3's torque. Getting out of my 02 996 into my 91 NSX I really feel the lack of torque. But at around 8000 rpm's the smile goes to the NSX.
Still, the S2000 is the best bang for the buck. I just wish my 07 went to 9000 rpm's.

What is AP1? I know i'm a noob.
The difference? AP1s have a 2.0 liter engine, AP2s have a 2.2 liter engine... and some other things that have to do with the body, spring rate... etc

Simply put, the S2000s made for the United States from model year 2004-2008 are AP2... all other S2000s are AP1
