Based on the pricing shenanigans by some local dealers that I recently encounted, I became disgusted and about gave up hope of landing an S200 this year. But after accidentally stumbling across a dealers' list at https://www.s2ki.com supposedly committed to selling at MSRP I decided to give it a shot at the closest one to my location: LaPointe Honda in Charlotte, NC.
Anyway, I called Brian Barry at the dealership bright and early Monday morning and much to my surprise a deal was stuck up pronto. At no extra charge, he even agreed to drive 75 miles to my hometown to pick me up and take me to the dealership so I could take prompt delivery. By around 2:30 in the afternoon, I was in my red S2000 and stirring the gears on my drive back home, which included as many backroads as I could find.
For my no-options model, I paid $33,810 OTD, which included the 3% NC sales tax of $982.20. It was very nice to see the window sticker absent of any specious dealer mark-ups and add-ons.
As of when I left LaPointe Monday, they had a black S2000 on the showroom floor with the rear spoiler and I think the security system. Brian, who happens to be an S200 guru of sorts, says they'll be getting another red model in about 30 days. Their phone # is (704) 535-4444.
I've favored motorcycles over cars in recent years (I own a Honda RC51 and CBR929), but the nimble, sure-footed and rev-happy S2000 puts lots of grins on your face.

Congratulations! You will enjoy the car and the positive experience at the dealer is icing on the cake. Don't forget to add your "rave" to the dealer feedback section at S2Ki.

Congratulations, Red! Glad to hear that you had a decent buying experience with no hidden surprises. You have a reasonable state sales tax compared to 6.5% around here.
Enjoy the car!

If you think 6.5% is bad how about 8.25%in CA.
