There's a guy (CheeseFrog) here in Houston that drives a Civic DX - black with only wheels and exhaust. It runs 10s all day long. There's a vid running around of it racing Albert's 10sec Viper.

If a Civic can do it, surely an S2000 can.

But again, as Ludedude pointed out: It's more a question of "How fast can you afford to go?"

I guess the old adage is appropriate here..... "if you have to ask, you can't afford it"

I have two questions

1) Why do they show a Corvette and a Shelby driving away from auto zone in the commercials?

2) What are those people looking at under the hood of that yellow caviler in the caviler poster ads?

And if you don't drag race, what's the point of a 10-second car? It sounds like someone wants to win a biggest-weenie contest.

A 10 second S2000 will not be an easy task but it is possible. Think about it this way, a 500 hp Viper runs high 11's. A VERY BUILT up F20c with Turbo running 18 psi will get you around 475+ to the wheels depending on what you have done to the engine. That is pump gas HP. The difference is the torque. You will only be running 300 pounds or so torque. That is not enough to push the S into the high 11's. Now you run 30 pounds of boost on a super built engine and race gas, you might be able to break low 11's. We are talking at least 15k in engine stuff alone (tuning, heavily reinforced engine, etc..) Not including your reworked diff and gears + the cost of race gas nowadays.. I think it is highly possible but you do have to have some cash..

I myself, with some help of a friend, am hoping on building an NA F20C engine running 380 +hp (since we have an extra engine just chillin..) I know, I know.. Good luck.. haha

i think it's easy for S motor to make into 10's or even less if u want to play serious on drug race, basically turbo (or twin) which need to be custom make, and then totally reduce weight with all fiber glass or cf parts just like all the drug cars out there, shouldn't be so hard but a lot money. So i'm saying yes S motor can hit 10's in drug race.

So why the hell do you post? Just ignore it!

I came back to this thread simply because it said you were the last poster, and I knew I would get a laugh out of your reply. Thanks for not disappointing.

I dont think this thread is pointless. I was just asking if it's possible. And almost everyone povided a constructive answer to someone that does not know about mods...ie me.
