I came back to this thread simply because it said you were the last poster, and I knew I would get a laugh out of your reply. Thanks for not disappointing.

A VERY BUILT up F20c with Turbo running 18 psi will get you around 475+ to the wheels depending on what you have done to the engine. That is pump gas HP. The difference is the torque. You will only be running 300 pounds or so torque. That is not enough to push the S into the high 11's.

Uh.

Didn't a turbo S2k with 340 at the wheels run 12.6 @ 115 or something?

+135 @ the wheels and you can't get into the 11's?

....

Uh.

That MPH alone is good enough for 11's.

Yeah, look at REAL cars that REALLY hit 10 at the track. Then go convince someone other fool about some FWD car that hits 10 on the street. Yeah, maybe in the 1/8th.

According to Derryck, his turbo S2K went 12.1 with only about 400hp (don't remember if it was at the wheels or flywheel).

I am thinking with the car as is in stock weight + the pounds you add with the turbo, diff, etc.. If you make a drag car with no interior, no passenger seat, no conv. motor, etc.. You will get there quite a bit easier than you would as a streetable car. I wasn't arguing per say.. I was just saying that it would be hard because the F20C is low on torque. It was not made to be a drag car. If there is a 340 hp S2000 can run 12.6, I would like to meet him/her. That would be awesome. to them..

Go with outboard rockets. Solid rocket boosters are best, and make returning it to stock the easiest.

I think Thiokol has lots in stock since 1 Feb 03's trouble. I might be wrong but I think you could make it a five second car.

Yes, it is a matter of money.

I ran into a patient who had a 1390 hp modified Viper. I don't know the exact stats, but I had read that it was raced at Sear's point and was the fastest street legal car at the time.

He sold it for $970,000 and change.

I assume that there was something near that amount in parts and wrench time-he couldn't have found someone that was that much of a rube...
