Thumbs up Possible near-term mod plan

I am thinking about doing the following power mods over the course of the next few months:

Invidia exhaust (already ordered, to be installed next Friday)
AEM V2
Amuse R1 header
Amuse straight pipe

What do you think?

The aem v2 isn't pretty but it definitely works well and mayeb the best. I think the invidia looks nice but the gains wont be anything from it. A single exhaust would be your best for that (t1r 70mm). And the amuse header is top of the line and the straight pipe is a straight pipe and will get you good gains. Maybe you might want to consider the j's header also???

Thanks for your feedback.

From the dyno charts I have seen, the Invidia exhaust makes an additional 3-4whp. Woo hoo!

I am not interested in a single exhaust, no matter what the performance gains are. I've always wanted a car with dual exhausts and now I do. Plus, the bumper on the AP2 was designed for dual exhausts--a single exhaust would look FUGLY.

When and if I get a header I'll look at everything out there.

My plan is to go FI (turbo or s/c) in about a year...all dependent upon when the DBW issues are resolved. So, some of the bolt-ons would be temporary.

If you're considering going turbo, don't waste your money on any of the stuff that's designed for an NA buildup. Save your money, then build a custom 3" exhaust system. The intake & header will be useless w/ a turbo buildup, as you'll be using a turbo manifold and different intake plumbing. So, don't even bother with them. If you're dead set on the Invidia exhaust, then go for it, but don't mess with any of the other stuff unless you can get a really good deal on it.

If you go S/C, you could still use the header & exhaust, but it might be a little restrictive.

Thanks for your input. I agree with most of it. If I go the S/C route, I will have zero problems with the Amuse or J's Racing header as both products are designed for both N/A and FI applications. The Invidia exhaust piping is only 60mm, so there would be some performance losses unless I upgraded to larger piping.

Well, i'm not sure if AEM has any plans to make the EMS work with the DBW, and I wouldn't run a turbo without one IMO. As far as the supercharger route goes that may be a possibility if comptech/vortech come up with a solution and your header/testpipe/exhaust will all work fine with that. Also, I think that the invidia will work fine with a SC in the future, the 60mm piping versus 3" piping is not that big of an issue as it is with a turbo setup. Look how many people are running their comptech/vortech kits with a stock header/cat/exhaust. The gains of a 3" dual against the invidia dual will not be that significant. I say go with the mods that you have listed and you will always have the option to go SC if that becomes available for the MY06.

Thanks for your comments. As I have stated in a couple other threads, the MY06 has a programmable ECU and Hondata will be working on a K-pro like daughterboard for it. Therefore, an AEM EMS will no longer be the only option.
