Well, I think for the first time I didnt do that bad but ill let you be the judge. My first run I got a 14.8. I then checked my tire pressure and in the back was at 35 pounds. So I lowered it to 20 pounds to get better traction. My first time taking off, I slipped it out at 5k rpm and the car burned tires like crazy. I had to let go of the gas to get some traction. The second time when I lowered the tire pressure, When I dropped it the car struggled alittle bit..., and then going to third gear I missed the gear that gave me a time of 14.7. My final run I was racing a mach 1 mustang. I dropped it again at 5krpm, still felt the car struggle alil bit but caught up quick. My 60 feet time was a 2.15. My reaction time was a .667. I actually was infront or tied with the mustang untill the 1/8 point which then I saw him going infront little by little. He probably was around 5 car infront. In the end, I got a 14.26 and he recieved a 13.63. It was a good race.. He had a better reaction time but in the 60 feet mark I was actually ahead of him.. But in the end he as that big v8 which pretty much took me completely in top end. For next time, I believe if i drop the clutch at 5.5k or 6.. I can acomplish around 13.9 to 14. At least 14.0 is my goal. Now when i got ther i was suprised I saw another s2k. actaully a 2003 black s2k. I greeted myself with the guy and he advised me that he was hoping for a time around low 15, I told him are you crazy, this should be doing at least mid 14. WEll, I saw his first run and he got a 15.6 on a s2k, and the second a 15.2.. I was thinking in my mind this guy must be a pretty damm bad driver to get a 15.6 when i achieved that night a 14.2. I even told him what to do but I guess he didnt take my advise. Is 14.2 a good time for the first time??
Oh a side note here.. After the quarter mile race, I raced outside a srt-4 o4 and a 350z. They were both my friends. The srt-4 i raced 3 times.. I took 2 out of the 3. With the neon, I didnt really pull on him until 70 to 80. I was very impressed he stuck with me. The time he one he got the jump but I did stay with him the whole way, he didnt gain nothing. for 20k, thats is a pretty damm fast car. We started at 25 and took it to 110. With the 350z, it was only one race but i took him by about a car length to 110.Against the 350z, i had one extra passenger, he was by himself. With the srt-4, we both had 2 passengers.
You need to get a good launch with the s2k cause look at the variation. 14.2 to 15.6. By the way, say a wrx sti there. It was a beautiful sight how that car launches. It ended up getting a 13.01.
