Default Potentially saying bye to the beloved S

i have an appointment next week with the local infiniti dealership. my intentions are to get the g35 coupe. my wife and i had a baby a few months ago and i have been in denial in regards to the practibility of the s. i have come to the realization that i need something with four seats. i am going to hate the day i will depart from the s but it is something that is necessary. i will be getting a decent deal with the g35 since my wife works in the finance dept. at the dealership. i hope to become a s owner again in the near future. i have thought about getting a daily beater but reliability is an issue for any candidates in my price range, not to mention i would have to pay insurance on another vehicle and i am also paying on a sportsbike that sits in the garage. i will continue to visit and post on this site if i get the g35 because it is such a great website with tremdous amount of relevant information and a very outstanding community.

I hear you. I might be in the same boat as you in about 2 years. My wife and I talk about having kids in a couple of years, and when I think about getting rid of the S I get depressed. Don't know how I'm going to do it.

You may want to look at the sedan instead. Those rear seats are about useless. I'm not sure you could get a rear facing child seat back there. My wife and I just went thorugh the same thing. We got the G35 sedan.

If you're getting rid of your S, maybe you should go all the way and get a minivan

There is no need to get rid of your toys. I'm a dad also, two boys 5 & 3. All my cars are two seaters. Love my boys , but still track and ride my sportbikes. In fact the boys got kadet karts for X-Mas this past year. How often do you need the extra seats ,unless you and the wife have to share one car. If that's the case my having kids right now is not the best option.

pphamr6 ride your sportbike .

The wife drives the sedan and glorified station wagon (aka SUV). Just because you procreate doesn't mean the fun should stop. It would never occur to me to have to sell something I enjoy just because kids enter the picture. When I bought the S as I put it in the garage and walked in the house she asked if I had changed the exhuast on my old car. I told her no I had bought a new car. She asked , another convertible ? I told her yes and sat down to watch tv. Next day as she was preparing breakfast she went to the fridge in the garage to get something out of freezer saw the S and asked if it had a passenger airbag de-activation switch . But that was the end of her interest in the car.
