powder coater
I just got the new Craftsman holiday gift catalog and they are now offering a powder coater. The powder coating gun is $160, after coating you bake the coated item in the oven at 400 for 20 min and your done. This sounds awesome, for $160 you would break even after only a couple of pieces and they offer 20 colors.
Anybody have any input on this? Sounds like its a great buy but is there something about the process that would make this less durable than professional coating?

I'm pretty sure that would make me not want to eat anything out of that oven anymore. Might be a good idea if you had a seperate old oven you bought at a garage sale or something.

It's my understanding that the power emits a fairly noxious fume that you don't want in your house, and don't want on your food. So I would suggest a dedicated oven in the garage.

Think you are saving money? Imagine what a botched job would cost to fix.
