If anyone has any tips please post.
I thought thats what this whole thread was about
Depending on the powder used, you can get a set of wheels done from $200+
I would make sure that price includes sandblasting too, as some places charge extra for that.
Even though you have curb rash, a good powder coater will buff/grind that out before coloring the wheel.
It pays to shop around

I will post pics when I am done, I am getting the sample back this week sometime for my approval, then they will actually start. Probably be done next week sometime. I will get a quote from them (Tallahassee Powdercoating) on how much it cost me, and how much it would have cost had I not been related.
I have heard between $25-50 a wheel is pretty standard (depending on color, coating (heavy vs. light), clear, blasting).

I had a set of 2004 OEM wheels powdercoated black. Just caution the shop to not go crazy with the temperature during the sandblasting and curing stage. Sometimes these wheels will not stay true after seeing the higher temperatures (e.g. 400 degrees). The OEM wheels are actually pretty light for OEM wheels and rigidity was sacrificed for the weight savings.
the place where i am getting it done said that OEM wheels were the best to coat, as they were the best metal. He said you run into problems when you get aftermarket wheels that are not pure metal, then the heat screws with them. He said the OEM Honda wheels were the best behind the OEM Ford wheels.
