Default power of a good drive behind an s2000

Hey guys check this out. A stock na s2000 with kws and wing takes out two turbo and a gt3 at buttonwillow. This makes me glad i have a s2000. Now if only I can only learn to drive like him.

Drivers skill is a huge factor, the silver turbo clearly had issues even before he went off track. S2000 are great, but a good driver in that turbo or the black GT3 would walk away with ease. None the less, a great driver and an nicely prepped S2k!

The Porsche's have a greater power to weight ratio over the S2K. Porsche's are also legendary for their superior braking systems, yet the S2K was consistantly out braking the Porsche's

Comparing the S2K to these car's is like comparing apple's to orange's.

Those Porsches are clearly faster than the s2000 as you can see in the video. The s2k only catches up in the corners. Something tells me its a lot easier to push your $30k s2000 hard into a corner than it is your $100k+ Porsche....

Yup, ppl. seem to discount the driver factor a lot when comparing cars under these conditions. Power counts, but if that is all you have you will never walk away from a puny S, and may even come in behind it.

Answer: Maybe it's the driver.
I agree the driver's experience enabled him to pressure the porsches.

Aren't autocrosses raced in parking lots? Limiting the sizes to smallish courses? I would think the GT3s would be out of their element on tiny courses that negate the porsche's 4sec 0-60mph times and emphasize the miata's light wieght. It is often bringing the right tool for the job.

The last autocross I saw was dominated by an old mini (not the new versions) with no interior or exhaust, and small 12" wheels that stuck way out past the fenders. It wouldn't matter who you put in a GT3. They wouldn't have a chance.

The OP's video on youtube had links to some more of the guys runs as he films evo's and subarus. Seems the evo's didn't do any better than the porsches.
