Preloading Rear suspension
Quick question, if you dont remove the control arm to remove the strut/spring from the car, would you still need to preload the rear? I know with the front its necessary but wanted to get a definite answer for the rear.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Ok thanks for the response. One more thing. For the front, i just need to loosen up the top two bolts of the strut, bottom bolt, control arm bolts(All 3 or just the two i took off to remove the strut) and thats it?
For the rear it would be to loosen the two struts on top, bottom one and thats it or do i have to do the control arm aswell there.
Is this required more for the front compared to the rear since we have to actually unbolt the control arm?
Thank you.

This same "issue" seems to pop up every few weeks but here's your answer one more time....
Your goal is to tighten anything with a rubber bushing in the final resting state of the car. I do all the bolts related to the install.
If you did not unbolt the rear control arms, you do not need to undo them as they are fine the way the come from the factory.
So front would be 2 top bolts, 2 control arm, 1 bottom shock.
rear would be 2 top bolts, 1 bottom shock.
You can lift the assembly by a second jack under the lower control arm until the car is just off the regular lift jack. Also make sure to first jack from a center point so the sway bar does not pull.
