Default Replacing rear axles

Just wondering if anyone has replaced their rear axles without separating the ball joint or if it is even possible.

You could probably disconnect the upper control arm... You will have to pull the shock to get at the bolts to do it though...

Cool, that's what I was hoping. So just completely remove the coilover and unbolt the 2 upper arm bolts?
