Prelude to be replaced by S2000 Coupe?
If there is to ever be an S2000 coupe, it would be helpful to see what Honda did in the past with earlier S800, S500, etc. cars.
Perhaps they would be influenced by this earlier design:

The March copy of Road and track has a small photo at the bottom right of page 59 of what is indicated as a S2000 or possibly S2200 coupe. I can't tell if it is a real photo or a doctored image but the grill and vents look different as well as the rear roof line/fast back. It looks like they lifted the wheels off of a Mini Cooper "S" . The article discusses an engine change as well as the roof line - hence the S2200 - a reference to a new 2200 cc x 250 hp motor.

interesting to see the revival of a thread like this. The Prelude did die, they put a 6 speed (close enough to the original thought) in the accord and they *might* make an S2000 coupe.

It wasn't specifically created for that. There have been Accord coupes in the Honda line-up for a pretty long time, as have been Accord coupes with 5 spd transmissions. The 6-spd transmission is just a marketing element that was created for the car to market itself against the new and improved Altima, Camry SE, IS300, etc.
The Prelude line was discontinued due to fallen sales numbers...it just happened to be the last generation Accord coupe ate into the Prelude line sales, while holding a better resale value and having a superior marketing niche.
I do foresee a Prelude revival probably akin to the "S" line revival....keep in mind there are rumors of a CRX revival in the near future as well.
I even predict that as the Accord keeps getting bigger, better, and more luxorious, the coupe will segment itself out of the sports sedan market. This may leave a void for a FWD compact sports sedan....in comes the revised Prelude.
The Prelude will be back. This was Honda's best car until the S2000 came along. If they kill off the S, or make a S2200 coupe, might as well call it the Prelude since the Prelude name has a heritage and many dedicated followers, similar to the Z cars.

What's this about an all new Integra? I thought the RSX was the new Integra?
And the new Integra was supposed to be a car to take over both the prelude and previous generation integra.
