Ugh, I'm in San Francisco right now and I saw "premium" aka 91 octane california piss-water at $2.65/gallon.

I've only seen 2 S2000's out here also! There are waaaaaaaay more in sunny, flat Arizona

As for everyone running 87 octane... you've heard of water injection right? Well you can save even more gas by buying a .50 cent gallon of distilled water and dumping it in your fuel tank every fill up! Water raises the effective octane of the air/fuel mixture

(Never mind. Dumb question. There are so many people that don't even bother to read the damn thing, so what's the point? I'll bet that if diesel fuel was still significantly cheaper than gasoline, there would be goofs out there who would try it, too. )
i'm sure many have tried but the nozzle wouldn't fit.

Your mileage probably suffered though, since you were retarded.
Not at all. That's what all the service station operators tried to tell me. My first tank of gas was premium and there was no difference in mileage for any of the other tanksfull.

I averaged 12 kilometres per litre travelling roof down for the whole journey at an average speed of 120km/h (75 mph) on the speedo

Even my Integra says premium fuel only (10:1 CR), never questioned it, never had a fuel related problem. Likewise with the S2000, if I have the choice of putting either nothing or 87 in the gas tank, I'd prefer not to put anything in it and garage it until I can put 91+ in.

Premium gas give correct timing combustion, while lower octane will give premature combustion at the wrong time, therefore, decrease performance. Also possibility of engine knocking and all that stuff.

It like smoking, u know it bad, but people do it beacuse they say they feel fine. UNtil DUM..DUm..Dummmm.... uh oh!!! cancer.. So your car going to have cancer and won't last .hhahaa

Octane Defined ...

There are many misconceptions about octane. Some consumers believe that octane rating equates to more power and better mileage
