OK, you made me do some digging of my own. If you read that site, it indicates that some of the photos were of private cars.
This one:
was indeed from Honda. That thing that looks like a "snorkel" was in fact some kind of prototype induction horn that was never put into production.
Here's another angle of it to show what it really looks like. As you can see, it was not a "snorkel".
That "H" was also from a prototype plug cover.
I now recall that this was the topic of quite a bit of discussion many years ago. Honda, unfortunately never considered that the S2000 had a "hot air" problem. That prototype horn would have been a far better choice than what we now have.
Ahhh haaa..I see, man I thought they had built a OEM snorkel for a second there. Where did you dig up that second pic from? I always wonder how Honda engineers feel about some of the aftermarket stuff for our cars. Thanks for solving this one
Before I even bought this car and when it was still very new, I researched and downloaded as many pictures as I could find on the internet. This one popped up on some Japanese site. I knew I had seen this engine bay before but since my memory isn't what it used to be, I just couldn't pinpoint it. I had to look in my REALLY old files on my PC.
I have seen that pic before somewhere, did they also have a pic of a clear s2000 on that website, or one with plexiglass panels showing the chassis and other components, looked like a car show show?

Seen this one?
Muz has this pic on his screen saver. I look at at it everyday.
