Price fluctuations in the S2000 market.
I sold my car last year thinking I made out pretty good. Now that summer is here I would love to get back in one but the prices seem like they have inflated by a huge amount. Over the winter I couldn't find any really worth it as well so I don't think its attributed to the weather. Any ideas when to buy?
definatly not at spring or summer. I got a good laugh at this. you like many others sell their s only to return back to the same car. I've seen people do this 2 and 3 times. I can understand baby coming, need bigger car. but some or most sell for something different only to wind up back in a s. good luck with your search for #2.

Purchase when you find the right car for you at the right price, regardless of the time. Just make sure to keep the search alive until you end up with the right one
There is no perfect time to search, it is not at all like buying a new car where you can essentially be guaranteed to find a specific car w/ specific options tailored to your liking at a specific price point--and of course a brand new one at that. Searching for a used car is much more difficult and time consuming in most cases.
Sure it makes sense people may ask more money for the same car in the summer, because they may not be wanting to get rid of it as bad and may rather get some more enjoyment out of it and then sell it in the fall when the weather changes.

Depends on the market. I live in almost smack dab in the middle of the U.S. with no massive cities within 2 hours. I've been searching for 10 months and I've only found about two or three that would be considered a "good deal". The most recent was a AP1 outside Atlanta, Georgia for $12,000 with 40Kish miles. Before that was another AP1 in Florida for 10K with 50K miles. There was an 06 Laguna Blue near me for 15K with 60K miles. Unfortunately I didn't have 15K to drop at the time. I got itchy and settled with a wrecked 02' with 73K miles for $8500. It was repaired, but not properly. Now it's my project.
Best of luck. Plan to be very patient if you want the right one at a good price. Over half the posts I see now have the phrase "do not need to sell" or "I know how rare this car is". When I talk to potential sellers on the phone, they tend go on and on about how this will be the next classic car and how they won't take a dollar under their asking price, even if it is too high. I saw a nearby dealer try to sell a 05 with 25K miles for 32K on the sticker. It's frustrating being a buyer if you don't have the mindset that it may take a year or two to find the right car/seller.
I suppose in the end it's all about supply < demand.
