Default Problem with paint chipping.

My new 06 Laguna blue is getting lots of paint chips, about 15, in the hood and front fenders. It only has 6,000 miles on it. My 00 didn't have that many in 99,000 miles. Do you think it's bad paint and, if so, what should I do?

You should get the 3M Clear Bra

Once I get my front bumber repainted, I will get one installed. Currently have 20+ chips on it.

front bumper, is a given with chips.. how many chips do you have on your fender?

I plan on getting a clear bra for front bumper ONLY. I'd get clear bra for hood/fender, but i just can't STAND that line that is sooo visible.

Three. Most of the chips are on my hood.

I got a couple on my driver's side front fender. I also noticed a couple of thin spots on my door edge and hood edge. I used touch up paint, wet sand, and then a PC. Seemed to work.

geeze, that's a lot.. what's your driving habit like? 80mph on freeway? speeding? etc.?

I find it almost impossible to not get any chips, even on the freeway driving at 65mph.. our so cal freeways have soo much damn rocks on the road.

I had too many chips on my MY00 as well. I believe that its more of a Honda thing than an S2000 thing.

3M Clear Bra is a must for this car. Well worth the money if you value your paint. We've got more than our share of SUV's and pick-ups kicking up rocks here in Texas, and my car doesn't have a mark on it in 2 years. Be prepared to spend hours putting it on though.
