Default Problem with pride

Hey guys, well I just got the S put back on the road. Ive been driving around with the top down the past few days and being in NY theres not too many S2Ks around...so people always look/stare.
PROBLEM IS im having trouble with being prideful!!!
Sounds goofy but I find myself being like "yea...thats right, my car is sweet" or "yeeaaa you wish you had this" ...the list goes on. And right afterwards im like BAH, DAMN IT! I know I shouldnt be like this and I never was with my other cars or motorcycles. But once I get in the S...LOL it starts. Is like a 24/7 see if people are looking car. Bad thing is people are! Its constant looks/stares and chicks love it too.
ITS TUFF! hahaha

is it just me or do you guys do the same...im sure it sounds stupid but I had to ask

and it doesnt help that everytime I go out people will say...AWESOME CAR at red lights or say its amazing and just stare at it for a minute!

Nothing wrong with being proud... being cocky is another story...

I hate it when people call my car a Miata. I don't even like being compared to one. If they want to compare it to a Z4 or a Boxter I can live with it.

The only thing worse is when I have to explain to people what I drive.

Me: "It's a Honda S2000."

Them: "It's a 2000 Honda what?"

Me: "S2000. That is it's name. It is a Honda S2000."

Them: "So it is a MY00 Honda S."

Me:

There is no arrogance or fear of being cocky here. I am taken down a notch anytime someone asks what I drive.

My personal belief, and it seems to have served me well over the years.

Muscles makes us strong. Confidence makes us stronger. Arrogance makes us too strong.

There's a huge difference between thinking something, and truly believing what you think.

My wife does sometimes on purpose to spite me; we will see a miata in the parking lot and she will walk up to it and pretend its ours. HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Honestly though, I used to think the s2000 was a girly car and a tad too small when I had the NSX. Until one day my friend needed me to drop of his S2000 off for him......

Yep, 2 months later I owned a small girly car.....

I live in CA too and my experiences are different.

Last weekend I parked the S2000, top down, somewhere in ritzy Newport Beach, and a brand new MB S-Class passing by stopped. I overheard the driver telling his wife/gf/passenger what a cool car my S2000 was.

I own a S2000 and a Chrysler 300 SRT-8. With either car total strangers will give me the thumbs up or simply stare, roll down their windows to strike a conversation at a light, walk by outside the store to ask me questions or give me compliment.
