Problem with pride

I own a S2000 and a Chrysler 300 SRT-8. With either car total strangers will give me the thumbs up or simply stare, roll down their windows to strike a conversation at a light, walk by outside the store to ask me questions or give me compliment.
A few weeks ago we went to the Houston auto show and she fell in love with the Lotus Exige.
It should be noted that this is the same woman that refuses to allow the speedometer pass 99.
i was driving yesterday, and some fat older guy pulled up next to me on a bike, he is like wow thats nice what is it ,i tell him, and he is like.... o so thats like a hooked up civic.... i was pissed.... im like no guy, this is not even close to a civic
As stated before I think it's perfectly fine to feel proud of what you own and have worked for.
When I drive my cars I have always had that feeling when driving. It makes the driving experience that much better.
It's when people become cocky and thing that their car is better than everything else on the road that bothers me.
I know the S is great, but I also know that it is not the fastest car on the road so I'm not going to go cruising around trying to race everything in sight.

How do you like the 300 SRT-8? I was trying my best to sell my Mrs. on an SRT-8 Charger or 300. She wouldn't budge. She wants the new Jaguar XKR

Wow...SRT-8 to XK-R to Exige...that's a wide range. A friend of mine also wants a Lotus but I keep disuading him from it. From what I've read, one would have to make too many compromises with the Lotus --i.e., its fun, fast, goodlooking, but cramped, noisy and harsh...like a Toyota MR2 Spyder but way more expensive...
Another buddy had a Boxster and was looking to trade it after only 6 months. He was zeroing on the 350Z roadster. IMO the proportions of 350Z roadster are off: the beltline too high, the convertible top too low, and the butt too big. Plus the clutch is horrid, and the car too expensive for what you get. So I suggested the S2000 to him instead. He took a test drive and is now the proud owner of a '06 S2000!
IMO no car beats the S2000 for its kind. Sure, I WISH S2000 came with a good stereo, interesting wheels, fewer idiot warning lights and a sexy engine sound. But that same engine is smooth, the tranny precise, the driving lots of fun, the styling clean, the proportions and size just right, the fit and finish top-notch, and all for a reasonable amount of money.
