Never had problems with S02s in the rain. Only in cold weather where you don't allow the tires to warm up. My friend's friends that used S02s and NONE had problems in the rain too. They are from Malaysia, a region well know for having Monsoon seasons when it rained all the time.

Of course, if the tire is cold, wet weather would make it much much worse.
