THE PROS AND CONS
When I had my Evo it came with a vented hood of course. I did notice the exhaust manifold rusted really fast because of the moisture. Besides that I didn't notice any adverse effects. I ended up with a stainless manifold anyways.
Ventalation is important. Heat is the enemy, not only of performance but of longevity. There is a lot of non-metal stuff in the engine bay that will last a lot longer if engine bay temperatures are kept in check.
The S2000 seems to have a reputation for high engine bay temperatures. Even more of an issue if you have a header with no heat shield or coating.
There is no reason to worry about engine bay componants getting wet. You don't think the belts, lower block, and lots of other stuff doesn't get wet when you are driving over wet roads? Do you guys have under-trays that completely protect the engine bay from splash and spray?
Finally, about that EVO exhaust manifold. The reason it got rusty is it is made of cast iron and it gets hot. Moisture in the atmosphere will quickly rust cast iron after it gets hot. Look at your brake disks after they sit unused for several days.
A vented hood will make you work a little harder to keep your engine bay clean clean.

what's a ventalation?
only thing about the vented MG hood is that the left top vent is right above the positive terminal on the battery, which seems like it doesn't do much when it's wet, but it's still un-nerving at times.

CONS:
stuff can get wet and rust easier
you have to drive around with a mismatched colored hood
Want to sell me your OEM hood?

The only negative for me was that the stock hood prop really didn't work well with the CF hood. I now have a set of hood dampers and that solved it easily enough.
LOL That was what that was.
Steve @ Evolution was trying to figure out what was going on with my hood, since it didn't look anything like the old MG style hoods, but I got the latest model.
Seibon MG style CF hood II FTW!
goto the link on my signature, there is that thread where we're all trying to figure out what's going on.
Hey, do you know why they put the hood prop on the left side of the hood instead of the right?
I can't prop my hood with this seibon.
