Just had to share a quick laugh with you all. I just made a quick run up to Redding late the other night. Traffic was very light on I-5. I was cruising along, not too much over the limit when I approached an old beater pickup truck. As I neared, he put on the turn signal and slowly pulled off the road....in the middle of nowhere. I passed him...scratching my head wondering what he was doing. As I passed, he pulled back onto the road and kept driving. It occured to me that he probably mistook my HIDs for a cop's flashing emergency lights and thought I was pulling him over...LOL . This happened 3 or 4 more times throughout my trip. I thought it was hilarious at first, but after a while I wondered how many people I was irritating with my fake "code 3" headlights. Have any of you pulled people over in your S?

p.s. I measured 1.3 miles between myself and a road sign I was illuminating down the road...incredible. I love HID!!

I have never "pulled" someone over yet. lol. but that's a great story. I also love my HID. See clear as day when it's night.

I haven't had anyone pull off the road yet, but I have noticed plenty of drivers yielding in the left lane -- something that never happens here in the DC area!
Not only at night -- even in the day time. The S2000 does look pretty intimidating from the front, doesn't it?

..Ya gotta love the new smilies....

the other day I had an oncoming truck/SUV flash me with teh high beems. Poor wittl trucker that blasts everyone else because has lights are rear view mirror high to most cars. Man that felt good!

The way I can tell an S2000 at night from any other HID headlight car is that the S2000 lights appear to be flashing because of the bumps in the roadway. He may of thought you were flashing him so that you could pass.

Cops around here don't have them either...I was referring to the characteristic flash that happens when we hit bumps. I had an S behind me once, and every time he hit a bump, I saw flashes of blue and even some tinges of red in the mirror. It was enough to get my attention and make me look for a cop somewhere back there, or maybe some other emergency vehicle running the red and blue lights....LOL. That's what made me realize what was going on when people pulled off the shoulder for me.

I don't think that's it...I was in the fast lane and he was in the slow lane. The difference in speed between us was not large enough for him to "run for cover" as I blew past...there was maybe a 10mph difference. In addition, I was a good 8 carlengths back when he started to pull over. I was nowhere near riding him. This was the case with the other drivers I pulled over as well.

i get a lot of oncoming traffic flashing their beams at me to remind me to turn off mine. People in my area really do not see many HID equipped cars, so they assume you have your high beams on.
