Default Sometimes HIDs are just not worth the trouble...

I love the brightness of the HID lights that come with the s2000 but sometimes I feel that they aren't worth the trouble. Just crossing town at night I get flashed at least twice. I used to find it amusing, but now I keep one finger on the brights just so I can reply, "No really, I don't have my brights on - THESE ARE MY BRIGHTS!"
Just the other day, I was heading home when a car that I had passed by in the slow lane suddenly jumped behind me to tailgate me and continuously flash his brights at me for the next 5 min. (a FREAKIN' VOLVO 740 NON-TURBO!) For the first minute, I was resigned to the fact that he thought I had the brights on. But after three minutes I started to get annoyed. By about 5 minutes I was mad. As soon as we reached a hill on the highway, I shifted over to the slow lane and dumped my car into third. As he wheezed by, I slipped in behind him and blinked my brights at him for about 5 sec. After HE pulled over to the slow lane I moved up to him and motioned that if he wanted to pull over and "work things out," I'd be okay with it. He looked over, and then would not make eye contact again. I matched pace with him because I found it satisfying just to make him uncomfortable. He soon turned off- onto the Fruitvale exit in Oakland (I hope he survived).
I've discovered that people who start things must think they're invisible when they are in their cars. Like others, he seemed shocked that someone would take it personal when they drive rudely. I am actually more angry at myself that I lost my temper than at him. But honestly, when you're reckless with a 3500 lb. vehicle capable of over 100 mph, its like being reckless with a firearm in my opinion. The kinetic energy is about the same.

I don't get flashed. Perhaps your headlights need adjusting as well?

I had a very similar situation. I too keep my finger ready on the darker roads for the a-holes who think I'm using my brights.

But anyway, I was on a highway just driving respectable like and some woman I passed proceeded to turn on her brights and speed up and tailgate me after I had passed her in the left lane. I speed up to get some distance but after a minute she still had her brights on. So I decided to slow down, well she wouldn't pass me and now started flashing her brights.

After a minute or two of not passing and after dropping to about 45 mph on a 65 limit, I was done, I pulled onto the shoulder. She pretty much had no choice now and she gunned it. Nice try, I caught her easy, and proceeded to show her exactly how bright my lights can get. I scared the shit out of her with how close I got.

It was fun for about a minute, they I floored it out of there.

I know it was dumb, but generally I could care less if they just flash me, but you'd think I blinded this woman for life by how obnoxious she was. I had to, I had to.

Hopefully she'll think twice before she does that to someone else.

IMO the HIDS on our S's are not that bright, I've had my wife follow me home in my S and the lights are fine, matter of fact normal white lights on most vehicles seem to bother me more then HID's. I've had plenty of people flash me as well, so I usually flash them back and wave

Change your high beam bulb to some PIAA Super White bulbs then flash them, that should really blind them.
