Default pumping gas

I've been having a problem with gas leaking out whenever I pump gas. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the way the nozzle is connecting. It happens all the time, not just at a particular gas station, so I'm thinking its a problem with the car. Every time I get gas I end up with gas drizzling down the side of the car.

wait, so the gas leaks out of the car, or out of the nozzle at the station? if it coming out of the car that is serious stuff and you need to bring it in!! if its the nozzle, make sure you are holding it in all the way when the gas is going into the car, the gas could be going into the horizontal part of the gas section of the car, under the cap for the gas, and then be pouring out onto the side of the car, i hope you are washing off your car when the gas leaks out on it, it cant be good for the paint....

its not leaking out of the car...its coming out from the gap between the rubber part of the nozzle and the lip of the gas tank filler hose thing, the only thing is, there isn't a gap because I try to make sure that the rubber part is nice and snug, but since I don't hold it tight in place as it is pumpking and just let it pump automatically, in the end, there's always gas leaking out.

hmm... i dont know then, try pumping it yourself, instead of letting it do it by itslef, hold it tight in the hole while the gas is going in the car, it may just be that the auto thing isnt in enough.... do you hold onto the handle while it automatically pumps? or do u let it go, you should also try holding the handle, and pull it up a little, i would think because of gravity the pump would want to move backwards to a tilt, and if none of that works, go to the person inside the little building thing and say what happens to it... maybe they can help you fix it...
