I'm sure threads of this nature are all to common place here, but I need some help/advise. I have a yellow 2001 on order with Gunn Honda in San Antonio, Texas. I originally choose this dealership based on their MSRP only policy. Well true to their word they will not charge over MSRP, but they are tacking on about $3200 in options. These options include:

Wheel Lock $119.00
Trunk Spoiler $899.00
Front Spoiler $699.00
Side Strakes $799.00
Floor Mats $99.00
Touch of Class $379.00 (Detailing Service)
VIN Etch $169.00
---------------------------
TOTAL $3,163.00

I especially liked the floor mats for $99.00 when they are included on the 2001. Here is my basic dilemma. I have offered to pay a market adjustment but I don't want any of the options. There comment is they will make a decision next week, but I

Try getting them to knock off the accessories that you don't want first (BTW those prices are pretty inflated), if they don't do it then I say move on to another dealer.

A local dealer with whom I had a deposit for almost a year put EVERY accessory on the car which I didn't want. They wouldn't sell it to me any other way, so I moved on to another dealer 100 miles away....

If St. Louis isn't too far for you, I can put you in contact with my dealer...MSRP, nothing is forced.

I've got mine on order at Frank-Kent in Ft. Worth. Formerly McChurchill Auto group. They may have an allottment left at MSRP. Call Wendy or Tonya 817-367-4000. They have an 800 number but I don't have it in front of me right now. Mention my name (Larry), I'm trying to get all the S2K buyers to harass them in to some favorable pricing on options and/or extended warranties. They have not yet pulled the old extras pricing. I sure hope they don't.

Ask for no options especially floor mats and WTF is with $400 for a wash and wax? The thing is brand new. If they wont do it, walk away.

This sound all too familiar, if they won't budge, tell them they can keep it. If you would like a no hassle, upfront dealer, at MSRP just e-mail me and I will put you in touch. Good luck.

email Clovis - he helped me get setup on a deal only slightly out of state. I had problems with Classic Honda in Round Rock and have since dropped them (still awaiting my refund) for similar issues that you have.

Floor mats are standard equipment on the 2001! That is terrible, I mean they are charging $84 to install the $35 wheel locks?

The last dealer I worked at did the same thing with the pricing on the other options. As soon as they couldn't get way with over msrp for the car they started loading it up with options and charging wayyyy over list for them.
