Default Purchasing an S2k via Car Auctions ?

Someone on here mentioned it, and I wanted to know if anyone had an information or experience with this.

When i was last in the market for cars, there would be agencies you would go to, and they would go bid for the car and charge you, in the end it was never much of a deal at all.

So who to go to, how to go about it, to just, go out and look @ the auctions ?
btw - located in so-cal

thanks guys

I don't like auctions. The ones that I've been to won't allow you to test drive the car, and anytime you buy used the test drive becomes very important. All they allow you to do is start the car.

You're better of buying used and bargaining with the seller to get a good price.

Auctions = Bad idea....you need to have a mechanic go over any used car with a fine toothed comb....If the action does not allow that walk away. There is a reason that many things are auctioned. If they could be sold traditionally, they would for a higher price too. Auctions are a BIG red flag....
