New to the forum and looking to purchase a Honda S2000 probably an AP1 (2001 and newer).

Need some pointers on what to look for going for test drive in these cars. Things to check for under the hood and listen for on the road. All insight will be invited.

Main question - Should mileage be a turn off for this car no matter the age? What major mechanical service requirements are there as age and mileage increase.

What to look for when buying a used S2000

 

My priorities were condition, no mods, and mileage (within my price range). I was not picky about age or color.

I ended up getting an ’00 with 58k (two adult owners).

 

If you have to ask then get it inspected.

No -- same as any other car. Mileage is just mileage. Proper maintenance and care matters much more than just number of miles. Don't overlook the countless prior threads identical to this one.
