Could happen with the 06+ DBW era.

00-01 is the most unrefined, raw and fun years to own. But if I had to do it again, id probably pick up an 04-05 just because its still an "analog" car the previous version was, but there are some performance refinements in the drivetrain and rear suspension sub frame. Those can pretty easily be addressed in the previous ap1's but not as easy with the stronger rear end, improved carbon coated trans sincros and oil pump and a pretty good upgraded list on the engine.

The DBW has what the 04-05 has chassis/suspension and drivetrain wise, but with the addition of electronic throttle, and traction control, both of which I call driver interference. The tuning option is an improvement in cost and convenience over the drive by cable models however.
