Push start button.
Sup folks,
Well living here in Canada, all canadian cars are left hand drive and as much as i love my S2000 dearly there are a few things that i wish were differently set up. One example is the RED PUSH START BUTTON. Being right handed, sometimes i think i'd be much better off having had the button on the right side of the dash where the fan controls are rather than on my left where the volume controls are. Just wondering if it's an issue for anyone else who would have wished the start button be on the right side like the JDM s2k's

The start button is on the opposite side of the steering wheel than the shifter for a reason.

And, how do you think all the left-handers that drive LHD cars feel about most cars having the key on the right side of the steering wheel?
true valid point. I guess for some people it works better than for others. It's just that it's happened that because i'm so not used to using my left hand that it's taken my a couple of push starts to turn my car on because of using my left hand
Ha! I'd never imagined that (starter button on the left).
We are right-hand drive here and the starter button is located on the right; and I've been doing it all the while.
Would feel quite weird to push the starter button with my left hand!

the history of a button located as close to the drivers door is as follows. There was a time when drivers started races out of the cars on a start line, like runners. And they needed to run to the car, open the door, start engine and only then start a race
. When start button (in general ignition) was located near the door they could start the engine while getting into the car. That's why Porshes have their ignition keys where we have start buttons.
It becomes second nature after a while, no matter where the button is located.
Sometimes I find myself in my wife's car searching for the button. Quite puzzling for the passengers... Why did I turn the ignition only two clicks and wait looking around aimlessly?
