Ha - with that line of thinking could say that any car without a back seat is also "dumb".
Makes me wonder why you bought a "dumb" car, then again maybe I am just "dumb".
un related logic is unrelated and illogical.

I wouldn't mind it being on the other side just so passengers can see and appreciate the awesomeness that is the Engine Start button.

And, how do you think all the left-handers that drive LHD cars feel about most cars having the key on the right side of the steering wheel?
Ding-ding-ding! Southpaw here, I have no problems with the stock location.

Although, every time I drive my wife's RSX-S, I find myself stabbing the mirror switch and wondering why the car won't start.

That said-- neat, subtle mod to reverse things.

My understanding, and this has been covered here many times, is that when you stall the car due to a spin, you can shift with your right hand and restart with your left.

It is dumb to have to half turn a key then push a separate button.
Having accidentally killed the car at intersections on a few occasions, I can say that NOT having to re-turn the key to get it started again is really nice.
Just push and go.

Starting the S is such a second nature motion now that half the time my finger is already on the button while turning the key so it almost seems like the key is starting the car

I'm left handed so it is good for me.

I wish the ignition could have been on the dashboard as opposed to the steering column, and I wish you didn't have to turn the ignition key and then hit the start button. It's slower starting this car compared to a typical car as you have an extra step of turning the key and then hitting the button - seems counterproductive. Clearly proves that the start button is merely a toy and visual add-on. Looks great, no real benefit to having one.

I've spun on track a couple times (didn't "two feet in" quick enough) and really appreciated it being on the left. Clutch in, I shifted into 1st with my right hand while starting with my left. Got me back underway very quikly.

There's quite a few south paws here including myself. I don't really care where the button is as I am somewhat ambidextrous.

I want BMW's "Comfort Access Keyless Entry" System. It unlocks the door when you touch the handle and starts without inserting the key with a push start/ stop button.

I wonder if you can retro fit that system to the S.

I agree w/ those who think it's redundant &/or a marketing gimmick.

Racing heritage? LOL. What race cars require you to turn a key and then push a button?

Push button starts make sense in cars like my M3 w/ keyless start. Even the pushbutton is better implemented, you just click it momentarily, and the starter engages just long enough to start the car.

That said, it was kind of neat when it came out, but after living w/ it for 6 years, I don't particularly miss that aspect of the car.
