Put stock exhaust back on today.... WOW!
A year or so ago I bought a J's racing exhaust and had to change that pretty quickly (as i value my hearing) and bought a spoon exhaust which was significantly quiter and had less "boominess' in certain areas of the rpm range.
Today i sold my spoon exhaust and put the stock one back on and wow... I can finally appreciate how much sound tuning went into making it sound just right. I'm not sure ill ever have another aftermarket exhaust... unless the HKS sounds like stock only louder. It seems they are the only ones who have used a type of chamber to increase the total volume of the exhaust elimimnating some of the resonances other exhausts do at varying rpms (i guess to to their smaller volumes)..
Maybe spugen can work on something here by making a place where a extra volume adding chamber can be bolted on to reduce resonance.

another owner went back to stock and say wow here
i think the mugen is the closest thing to stock with no lose in power
and i think the HKS is quite a bit louder than stock
i came to a conclusion, if you want hp gain, it will be loud.
