Default Put top up w/o power?

I appologize if this is in the manual or something, but is there a way to put the top up if the battery is dead?

I put the top down to let the interior dry after my car was flooded here in Houston. Something's shorted out or something 'cause the battery is dead. Now I'd like to put the top up for when it gets towed to the insurance place. Not really a problem since the car is probably totaled anyway, but I figured I'd try.

BTW, the car still isn't dry. The seats and carpet are soaking wet.

I've heard brute force was an alternative when the power is out. I think you just have to pull it up manually.

Man that flooding sucks, sorry to hear about that!

Doesn't it have the little groove in the middle of the front part that is designed for you to grab ahold and pull?

I think this is in the owners manual but not sure. I'd check there. I seem to remember something about disconnecting the motors.

Page #233 Of the manual. You have to locate electrical connector for motor and disconnect first. Under lower corner of dashboard on passenger side. Then raise it manually.

Thanks for the replies. But it was too late. I had to go to work, so I raised it using the brute force technique. I don't think it damaged anything, just really hard and time consuming. The last 3 inches were really. really difficult!

I use this when the top is up to pull the top downwards when I'm locking it (less strain on the latches). I used to stick my hand under the metal stiffener and pull until I fried my hand doing it on a really hot day.
