Question About Clearing Headlight Diffuser

Default Question About Clearing Headlight Diffuser

Is it better to use a heat gun to take of the sealant or should i oven it?

Oven it. It only takes about 12 minutes.

isnt the headlight housing plastic? i've never done it but i'd probably use a heatgun just incase..might take longer but i'd rather waste time than waste a good chunk of money to get a brand new headlight housing

Just make sure you put it on a wet towel in the oven so the case won't get burned. The towel might get burned if it starts getting too dry, so keep wetting it each time you put the headlight in. Wet, not drench, and you'll be A okay.

oven works fine. also some people will suggest taking the ballast off first, it's not necessary. i've done multiple clearings and left everything intact. just follow these instructions http://ricks2k.com/info/instructions/diffuser.pdf. good luck!

I know the directions say to use a wet towel but I did it dry for fear of moisture getting into the housings. The towel didn't burn in my case.
