So does it convert your mileage into kms? I could see some Canadian sucker (not a generalisation btw) buying an S with only 60K ks on the clock only to realise that it was really 60K miles or 96K ks.

Very interesting.

Yep, the odo works that way too.... I found this out when I took my car in for its first service at 7500 miles. When I got it back, it had like 12000 on it! I was freaked, I thought that was one helluva joy ride they took Evidently, someone had pushed the mph/kmh button....

The most interesting change is the trip odometer. Since it only has 3 digits in front of the decimal point, it rolls over at 1000 miles. However, internally it keeps track of the total mileage since you've reset it. In my case I had already driven several thousand miles and was just noting every time the trip odometer had turned over. The kilometer conversion seemed to have no relation whatsoever to the number of miles showing.

I just noticed can you guys switch between mph and kmh?
My button (aus spec) does nothing I think.
Are you sure the button doesn't work for you? You have to hold it down for several seconds before it will switch.

Old thread, but this is exactly what I wanted to know (if speedo and odo can be switched between km/h and mph). Since the exchange rate is how it is and every car in NB, Canada is way overpriced, I'm likely going to be bringing an S up from the states if I can get one at a good price next summer.
