There are two latches that need to be done/undone by hand, but the top raises and lowers with power.

Plus in order to give it a nice "finished" look you must install a vinyl boot. It has 6 snaps (4 on MY02?) and takes less than 2 minutes after some practice.

I have a MY2000 car, and my top does not go up or down automatically, I must manually press a switch for it to go up or down. Do others have a different top?

Ha, that's "automatically". If it were "manaul" you'd have to reach up and pull the soft-top back over and behind your head. There would be no motor.

Never considered myself INCREDIBLY coordinated, but the boot only takes me a few seconds - the prob is that the back things seem to unhook at speed...

Way easier than the old POS I had for my Corvair!

My back used to unhook too. What I do now is, after I have the boot cover on, I pull it back towards the trunk. It keeps the tabs in the boot covers pretty secure and helps to keep the back from popping out.

i have the MY02 and the back two snaps don't come off, but the back usually flaps in the wind at high speeds...
i'm assuming that the older models don't REALLY have this problem b/c of more snaps... unless they have the same problem we do... IT'S NOT THE SNAPS THAT COME OFF AND FLAP, IT'S THE TWO TABS IN THE BOOT THAT DON'T HOLD TO THE TRUNK TOO WELL AND GET LOOSE!
