I followed lovetodrive's advice. Took my new S2000 back to the dealer. The dealer contacted Honda and had a technical bulletin faxed. There is an adjustment and it works. I was told the mechanic had to invest $30 in tools to do the job. I also found the boot is now easier to put on and take off. It makes sense - if the top is sitting at the right height, it would be easier to install and uninstall the boot.
