I have a question about getting my headers coated. I'm currently in the process of ordering a SS DC Sports header. My question is, will it be worth having it coated by JetHot if I'm going to purchase a J's vented CF Hood?

I know getting it coated reduces temperatures under the hood. The J's hood should reduce temperatures dramatically as well. Would it be worth $165 to get my headers coated? Or should I just leave it alone and install the J's...

got my DC SS header JetHot coated. not sure about an opinion justifying the cost. At the time and still now, I think for the price it is just the added little bit of extra heat control, even if it is mental - anything helps. Weight will be reduced by 10lbs with the new header. The coating is very pretty. =)

Tips on installing the header - jack the car up HIGH. I had a floor jack and a Houston telephone book to get the car up high enough to barely remove the header. Secondly, the black shroud, loosen the back nut and then pull up. It doesn't need to be completely removed. And finally, be prepared to replace at least one of the spring loaded exhaust bolts.

 

Ok... got my J's hood installed now. Gonna order the DC Sports headers soon. I need some advice.. coat or don't coat.

Of course coating it would be better, but will it be worth it? I have the J's hood which would decrease the heat in the engine bay... Would having the headers coated help any at all?

Any advice appreciated...
