Default Question about K&N 63 series MY07

Hey guys, I need your help AGAIN...

I just have installed K&N 63 series cold air intake for my MY07...

Everything went well and I really like it...

However, with this instake, I CAN NOT put my Tanabe strut bar back on...

Is there nay strut bar out there that will work with my K&N setup?

Thanks!

Hey man, IMO it's very worth it, nice gains in mid-range TQ, throttle response, and HP. Not hard at all to install. Only loud when you get on it... but, it sounds awesome, so you will probably get on it more.
MAKE SURE you RESET the ECU after you install it! It's very important, the amount of air coming in now is more than before. Your ECU needs to relearn for this. It's easy to do. Disconnect your battery 15 min. after you turn the car off. Reconnect it when your done. Then for best results, run the piss out of it for a while. The ECU will learn a more aggressive pattern.
As far as exhaust, not sure about Mugen. I have Magnaflow, it and the K&N seem to compliment one another well. When I put exhaust on my car it breaths even better. The vtec smoothed out some and gained more mid-range... RESET the ECU again when you do exhaust.
By the way, I'm from Larwenceville/Snellville area, went to brookwood, lived off oak rd... small world. Let me know how you like the K&N after you get it on.

OP, did you snatch it when they had that sale going on? If so, then its well worth it for the price.

I've seen other questions about re-setting the ECU and I have wondered what this entailed.
Just disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes accomplishes this?
Thanks, Jack

you are correct just disconnecting the battery. As mentioned previously it would be wise to stomp on the car after as well so it learns aggressive habits.

If you get a cell. Just pull your back up fuse (#16 I think. check your manual) for a minute and put it back and the cell will goes away.
BTW I love my above 3K RPM.. sounded sweet.

Yeah don't re set the ecu by disconnecting the battery. Will have to reset your radio pre sets and radio code and all.
If the fuse box is the same as an '01 S2000 then it would be to the right of your left leg under the dash. Would be the right column of fuses in the fuse box and should be a 7.5 AMP fuse labeled "back up" as said above. Would be the 3rd from the top in that row of fuses. If you pull this for 10-15 seconds it will reset the ecu and you don't have to worry about the radio pre sets or anything like that.

Thanks guys, I had no idea that you need to reset the ECU... I didn't do it for Mugen Exhaust either, maybe I should just install it...

Thanks again!

1. How loud is this? perfectly loud
2. How hard is it to install? not bad at all - 1 hour
3. Is it worth it? - every penny
