Default Question about S2000 Convertible Top

Does it have a resistance sensor that stops power to the convertible top if you for example left one of the attaching hooks on the car and didn't know about it? or if something was in the way of the top and it couldn't retract all the way.

It doesn't have a sensor for either of those scenarios. It just keeps going and going....

say if you accidently had one of the hooks left on and you push the botton for a second and let go immediatley, will it cause damage or you have to hold it down for a long time for that to happen.

one more question...is it ok to drive with the top down without the factory cover? i know it protects the cover from dust, but is it necessary for a 10-20 minute drive?

I doubt if the motor will be damaged if you briefly hold the button down as you stated. It might not be real good if you held it for a minute or so.

I think the top cover *finishes* the car when driving top down, but it's a pain to carry around for short trips. I usually use it when I'm going on a long trip or know that the top will be down for a while.

It also seems to help with the wind turbulence when it's on. When used in conjuction w/ Rick's full height screen, it helps keep the cabin a lot less windy.

Ive accidently done this a couple of times and it didnt damage anything. It isnt strong enough that it causes any damage to the frame and I think that you'd have to hold it down to burn it out.

Is there any quick cure to roof latch/hook rattles?
I know the car looks like a snake but this rattling is annoying
