Yes, I know the VGS steering wheel won't fit a non-VGS S2000. But does the airbag from a VGS steering wheel fit onto a USDM steering wheel rim? And consequently, would THAT fit onto a non-VGS car?

I know that would result in a steering wheel that looks completely stock, but I was just wondering if that would work.

Thanks.

From memory, I would say that the airbags are the same. So why would even want to attempt that? It would look the same as you have it know. VGS airbag doesn't say VGS on it, doesn't have a different color, doesn't have anything different. It makes no sense. Now, I am going from memory so I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Thanks for your responses.

To clarify, I'm wondering if the airbag part of either the VGS or non-VGS steering wheels are interchangeable.

So if an airbag from a VGS steering wheel were swapped into a non-VGS steering wheel rim on a non-VGS car, would it still work, function and fit properly?

But why would you want to do it? From appearance it looks exactly the same, so I would say yes.

Okay, here's the scoop. I'm looking for a complete stock steering wheel with airbag. There's one guy locally selling just the USDM rim and the cruise buttons, no airbag. There's another guy that's selling a complete VGS one. (with airbag). [NOT the $1K one from ebay] I know the VGS one won't fit so I was thinking of getting both, swap in the airbag from the VGS into the USDM rim, and place onto car. And keep the VGS rim as decoration in my house.

So my question was to ask whether this will work.

Make sense?

Should work the airbag was not redesigned on the VGS wheel. However a word of caution DO NOT continue to turn the bolt on the steering wheel puller after the wheels has popped off. If you do you will ruin your airbag reel. Other than that follow the Honda tech manual to the letter when performing this task. If you want to sell the VGS let me know. I would be interested, a friend of mine runs a machine shop that could certainly make me an adapter for what ever is on that sucker. Heck he could take the center off of my wheel and put it on the VGS wheel.

I love the way the VGS wheel looks...I'd like that a lot.
Is it metal, or just silver colored leather on the wheel?
